SCO Business Council Considers Investment Opportunities in Uzbekistan’s IT Startups

Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Business Council. The SCO Business Council delegation included Deputy Director Yao Jiangtao, Executive Director of the MOX Project Participation Department Sun Qi, and Uzbekistan Project Coordinator Jiang Hao.

During the meeting, the parties discussed investment opportunities in Uzbekistan’s IT startups, as well as prospects for developing digital infrastructure, data centers, and R&D. Particular attention was paid to supporting technology companies and facilitating startups’ entry into international markets.

Representatives of the SCO Business Council expressed preliminary investment interest in projects being developed by Uzbekistan’s IT startups. In particular, the parties reviewed promising solutions in the fields of electronic maps and mobile mapping services, government information platforms, as well as transport and healthcare information systems.

The participants also discussed the potential implementation of comprehensive technology projects combining computing capacity, energy supply, and operational infrastructure. Another area of cooperation was research and development (R&D), including the development of technological solutions and support for the international expansion and export of IT services and products developed by Uzbek startups.

Following the meeting, representatives of the SCO Business Council were recommended to continue discussions on potential investment projects with the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Cooperation with the SCO Business Council opens up additional opportunities to attract international financing for promising IT startups in Uzbekistan, develop technological and digital infrastructure, and support the expansion of Uzbek startups into international markets.
