IT Park Uzbekistan and Cyberport Expand Cooperation in Technology and Startup Support

As part of ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026, Makhliyo Muksinova, Director for Strategic Development at IT Park Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Henry Li, Head of Industry Partnership at Cyberport.

The parties discussed further strengthening cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan and Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, with a focus on supporting technology companies and startups, facilitating market entry, and expanding engagement between the two ecosystems.

One of the key areas of discussion was the development of market access and soft-landing mechanisms. The parties explored opportunities to support IT Park members entering the Hong Kong market, while also creating favorable conditions for Cyberport technology companies and startups interested in operating in Uzbekistan.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in AI, R&D, and digital technologies. The parties also discussed opportunities for direct engagement between startups and investors, including potential participation of representatives of the IT Park Uzbekistan ecosystem in Cyberport programs and the Cyberport Venture & Capital Forum (CVCF).

Cooperation between the two organizations is already developing in a practical format. In July, the parties held a joint roundtable, while in August, a webinar was organized during which Cyberport representatives were introduced to the IT Park Uzbekistan ecosystem and the ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026 program. As part of the current ICT WEEK, five Cyberport startups are participating.

The cooperation is based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed between IT Park Uzbekistan and Cyberport in June 2026 during the visit of John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, to Uzbekistan.

Cyberport is one of Hong Kong’s key digital technology hubs, bringing together more than 2,300 companies. Its ecosystem focuses on AI, fintech, Web3, cybersecurity, smart living, and digital entertainment, while also providing startups with opportunities for incubation, acceleration, fundraising, and international market expansion.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their intention to continue hub-to-hub cooperation, including organizing business missions, supporting mutual market entry between Uzbekistan and Hong Kong, and developing joint opportunities for startups and technology companies.
