IT Park Uzbekistan and East Telecom Discuss AI Infrastructure Development and Support for Uzbek Startups

Azamat Karamatov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, met with a delegation from East Telecom led by the company’s CEO, Park Sezoo

The parties discussed cooperation in data center development, AI talent development, and expanding opportunities for Uzbek startups to participate in KT Corporation programs

East Telecom is a telecommunications and digital infrastructure company that has operated in Uzbekistan since 2003 and is part of South Korea’s KT Corporation group. KT acquired East Telecom in 2007 and became its major shareholder in 2013. The company provides fixed and wireless internet services, corporate communications, dedicated data transmission lines, telephony, VPN, and 4G LTE services, while also developing cloud infrastructure and digital transformation solutions.

Following East Telecom’s merger with EVO in 2020 and the integration of internet service provider TPS in 2021, the company expanded its capabilities in telecommunications and digital infrastructure. One of its strategic priorities is the development of data centers designed to meet the growing needs of the digital economy in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.

During the meeting, particular attention was given to cooperation in data centers and infrastructure for artificial intelligence. The parties explored opportunities to develop AI-oriented infrastructure in Uzbekistan using modern technologies for power supply, cooling, and data center management.

Another key area of discussion was AI talent development. The parties considered the possibility of providing Uzbek specialists and startups with access to the AI Certification program organized by East Telecom’s parent company, KT Corporation. The program may cover areas such as Physical AI, AI agents, cloud technologies, and digital transformation, contributing to the development of practical AI competencies in Uzbekistan.

The parties also discussed opportunities for Uzbek startups to participate in K-PATH 2027, an acceleration initiative implemented by KT Corporation. In particular, they explored the creation of a mechanism that would enable promising technology companies from Uzbekistan to undergo selection and participate in Startup Acceleration and Open Innovation programs, gain access to KT’s expertise, and develop engagement with international corporate partners.

Park Sezoo, CEO of East Telecom, has led the company since March 2026 and has extensive experience at KT Corporation. His professional background covers global business planning, management of overseas investments and international operations, as well as the development of projects in renewable energy and smart energy.

The areas discussed may provide a foundation for further cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan, East Telecom, and KT Corporation in AI infrastructure, talent development, and the international acceleration of technology startups
