IT Park Uzbekistan and MBK Holding Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Technology and Innovation

The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, and the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, Azamat Karamatov, held a meeting with a delegation from Qatar-based MBK Holding, led by the company’s founder and chairman, Sheikh Mansour bin Khalifa Al Thani.

MBK Holding is a technology investment platform from Qatar operating in the fields of artificial intelligence, blockchain, deep tech, HealthTech, and startup development. The company implements projects across the Gulf region, the United Kingdom, and other international markets.

During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to expand cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan and MBK Holding. Particular attention was given to supporting startups, boosting IT exports, and promoting digital products developed by Uzbek companies in the Qatari market and other countries in the region.

In addition, MBK Holding representatives confirmed their plans to establish an official representative office in Uzbekistan and expressed their intention to begin the practical implementation of this project.

Special attention was also paid to the development of digital infrastructure. During the discussions, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov proposed considering the implementation of a Data Center construction project in the Republic of Karakalpakstan to support R&D activities and foster the development of advanced technological solutions. The initiative attracted interest from the Qatari side, and the participants explored potential areas of cooperation in this field.

The parties also reviewed prospects for collaboration in the HealthTech sector. MBK Holding expressed interest in developing joint projects in digital healthcare and introducing innovative medical technologies.

The meeting participants discussed opportunities to engage Uzbek IT specialists in international technology companies, as well as ways to further strengthen ties between the technological ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Qatar.

The development of cooperation with MBK Holding is expected to create new opportunities for Uzbek IT companies, expand their presence in international markets, attract foreign investment, and further strengthen Uzbekistan’s integration into the global technology ecosystem.
