IT Park Uzbekistan and OITE Global Discuss Cooperation within COMEX 2027

During ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026, Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, Advisor to the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Amr Abdullah Baabood, Group CEO of OITE Global and CEO of COMEX. 

The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan and OITE Global, the organizer of the COMEX Global Technology Show in Oman, including opportunities for Uzbek technology companies and startups to participate in COMEX international events. 

COMEX Global Technology Show is one of Oman’s key international technology platforms, bringing together government institutions, technology companies, startups, investors, and industry experts. Held in Muscat, the exhibition features a conference program, B2B meetings, startup-investor engagement, practical sessions, and presentations of technology solutions.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the potential participation of IT Park Uzbekistan in COMEX 2027, which will take place in Muscat on February 1–4, 2027. The parties considered possible participation formats, opportunities to showcase Uzbekistan’s technological potential, and the creation of additional platforms to promote Uzbek IT companies and startups.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening engagement between startups and investors. The parties discussed the possibility of establishing a dedicated track for Central Asian startups within the COMEX ecosystem, including meetings with potential investors, technology companies, and international partners.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at expanding cooperation with COMEX. The document provides for supporting the official participation of Uzbek startups in COMEX events, strengthening ties between technology ecosystems, and exploring opportunities to host COMEX events in Uzbekistan.

COMEX’s key focus areas include e-government, enterprise technologies, artificial intelligence, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, startups, Gaming & Esports, banking, and financial technologies. Dedicated thematic zones also cover robotics, smart cities, space and unmanned technologies, sustainable energy, AgriTech, and HealthTech.

In 2025, COMEX attracted more than 90,000 visitors, over 200 public and private organizations, and more than 140 technology startups. During the exhibition, more than 150 agreements with a total value of approximately OMR 116 million were announced. COMEX 2027 will mark the 35th edition of the exhibition and will be held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.

OITE Global, the organizer of COMEX, specializes in international exhibitions, conferences, and business events in Oman. The company has operated in the market for more than 40 years and develops platforms that facilitate engagement between the public sector, businesses, investors, and international technology companies.

Cooperation with COMEX already has a practical foundation. In September 2025, a delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan, together with IT Park members Detecting AI, BRB Tech, and Fleetroot, participated in the COMEX Technology Show in Muscat, where they held meetings with representatives of Omani and international companies and discussed new export and technology projects.

The meeting held during ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026 and the signing of the memorandum laid the foundation for further cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan and OITE Global, expanding the presence of Uzbek technology companies and startups at COMEX platforms, and strengthening business ties with the markets of Oman and the Gulf region.
