IT Park Uzbekistan Discusses Technology Sector Development with US Experts

On November 4, IT Park Uzbekistan hosted a delegation from the US Center for the National Interest (CFTNI) and the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (JHU SAIS).

The meeting was attended by Makhliyo Muksinova, Director of Strategic Development at IT Park Uzbekistan, and Andrew Kuchins, Senior Expert at CFTNI and Professor at JHU SAIS, who led the US delegation.

Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan presented the country's technology sector opportunities, including IT services exports, talent potential, tax incentives, and government support measures for IT Park members. They also outlined initiatives aimed at attracting foreign companies, supporting startup development, and strengthening technological infrastructure.

The delegation was also introduced to the Enterprise Uzbekistan project, which provides for a special legal regime and favorable tax and regulatory conditions for domestic and international companies.

During the discussion, US experts raised questions about the activities of IT Park members, workforce qualifications, export markets, and Uzbekistan's competitive advantages for foreign IT companies.

The parties explored opportunities for cooperation with US think tanks and relevant organizations, including the preparation of materials highlighting Uzbekistan's technological development and the promotion of information about the country's investment opportunities.

Delegation representatives emphasized the importance of raising awareness of Uzbekistan's ongoing reforms and economic potential within US expert and media communities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further engagement, the exchange of expert perspectives, and information sharing on Uzbekistan's ongoing reforms and opportunities for foreign investors.
