SaferZone Eyes Uzbekistan as a Regional Cybersecurity Hub for Central Asia

South Korean company SaferZone is considering Uzbekistan as a regional hub for cybersecurity and data center services, with plans to further expand across Central Asia. Key initiatives under consideration include establishing a local entity and developing a data center in Tashkent.

During ICT WEEK UZBEKISTAN 2026, Farrukh Rasulev, Director for Digitalization at IT Park Uzbekistan, met with Kwon Chang-hoon, Founder and CEO of SaferZone. The parties discussed prospects for developing cybersecurity and data center infrastructure in Uzbekistan.

Taking DAEWOO’s experience in Uzbekistan as an example of South Korean business expansion in the country, SaferZone outlined its intention to strengthen its local presence in the IT sector. Building on South Korea’s advanced technological capabilities, the company plans to develop, obtain the required certification for, and localize the production of IT solutions tailored to the Uzbek market and its standards.

In the future, solutions developed and produced in Uzbekistan could support the company’s expansion into Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and Africa.

SaferZone’s investment and advanced technology transfer plans are aligned with Uzbekistan’s priorities in developing digital infrastructure, information security, and the technology sector.

Following the meeting, IT Park Uzbekistan and SaferZone Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding outlining the key areas of cooperation. As part of the next stage, the parties plan to explore the establishment of a local entity and a data center in Uzbekistan.

The proposed data center could provide colocation services, cloud and computing infrastructure, as well as cybersecurity solutions to IT Park members and other companies. These services could later be extended to clients across Central Asia.

Founded in 2001, SaferZone specializes in information security. Its SaferZone All-in-One platform integrates data loss prevention (DLP), ransomware and antivirus protection, network and email security, and data encryption solutions. Its clients include Korea Telecom, LG, Samsung, and Hyundai-Kia Group.

Cooperation with SaferZone could contribute to the development of Uzbekistan’s digital infrastructure and data protection capabilities, while strengthening the country’s potential as a platform for delivering technology services across Central Asia.
